The Aiello Family began their tradition of fine Italian cheese making decades ago in Positano, Italy. In 1923 the family decided to bring their tradition to America. The family moved to Brooklyn, New York where they opened a Italian Specialty Market, but the products that stood out the most was their fresh mozzarella and ricotta. The demand grew so much for the families cheese that they formed Aiello Dairy Farms which sold products under the name Aiello Dairy Maid. The families little cheese business turned into one of the largest Italian cheese companies of its time. After years of success the family decided to close the company and keep their Italian markets. In 1988 Thomas Aiello one of the sons of the owners of Aiello Dairy Farms saw an opportunity in the cheese market for quality cheese products and formed Aiello Brothers Cheese Company with his three sons. They started to make fresh mozzarella the way they were taught by the family and word spread that the Aiello’s were back in business. From making cheese in the back of a small deli Thomas and his sons have grown their small neighborhood business to such a point where they are moving into a 90,000sqft state of the art cheese making facility. Today Aiello’s cheese is distributed all across the nation. The company is still owned and operated by the Aiello Family.
